We are in a new era of social voting and reviews! What are you doing to take full advantage of this trend to get patients?
I released a chiropractic marketing report a short time ago at PracticeBuildingCenter.com that explained the overwhelming evidence that I am seeing that Google (and other search engines) are putting great weight in what I am calling “Social Signals.”
Is the Internet Shifting from “Most Popular” in the Eyes of Google, to “Most Popular” in the Eyes of the People?
Yes, absolutely. In the past, things like backlinks and sheer numbers of backlinks would often mean ranking tops in the SERPS (Search Engines.) However, over the past several months since Google’s infamous Panda update, we are seeing more evidence that Social Signals are forming the base – the core – of what will rank a chiropractic website in the coming months/year.
What Are Examples of These Social Signals?
- The number of Chiropractic Patient “Reviews” about Your Practice, eg. Social Votes!
- Do you have a fully built-out Google Places and Bing Local page for your practice?
- Does google see that you also have an F.A.Q. series of helpful videos listed on YouTube? Hint – Google OWNS YouTube.
- Further, do some of those videos have comments, votes, and other social proof to show their popularity?
- Are people social bookmarking your chiropractic website(s) and blog?
- Do you have a Facebook Like Button on your website and how many people have “liked” your site?
- Same goes for the Google +1 button. Remember, these are now counted as “votes of popularity.”
What Actions Can You Take Today?
First, make sure you’re building an email list using a service such as Aweber and place all existing patients on your email list.
Then, create a short series of auto responder emails that go out automatically to each person on your email list.
These short series will encourage people to…
- Visit your website and click the Facebook “like” button and Google +1 button
- Encourage/ask them to visit your google places page, yelp, Judy’s Book etc and post a positive review for you.
- Use a social bookmarking service such as SocialADR to make it appear as though your website is growing in social popularity.
Exactly 8 Social Signals
There are exactly 8 social signals in total that I have identified in my special report, but that is a good start. The chiropractic marketing landscape continues to change. Social Signals are the future, if you want to get patients from the internet.
I’m loving ChiroBullets. Keep them coming!! 🙂
Thanks Ben!! Great usable info!!
Hey Ben,
I shadowed a doc the other day and learned how he really does get patients from the internet. He has a pretty aggressive online presence and to me it goes to proving your point about the internet and social media becoming huge drivers of traffic. Keep up the great info!
Thanks Jared.
I think this is the secret to all this “internet stuff”:
When a potential patient keep slamming into you and finding you seemingly “everywhere they turn” on the internet – including positive ratings, reviews, a blog proving you are a Leading Voice etc – then the only logical conclusion they will derive is..
“Damn. This guy clearly is the only choice for me.”
Boom! You have the appointment and their business.
Look at this internet stuff as a building a Portfolio of proof building (and authority-inducing) elements.
Ben
Thanks for the excellent information!
Thanks for the information. I am currently trying to increase my rankings on the search sites because I have seen the impact of being on page 1 and at the number 1 position in offices that I have visited.
I was working on Linkvana yesterday and reading bullet and stuff, I came across a book you recommended about WordPress, it may have been an ebook but when i clicked the link I got an error page. I was busy and moved on. Could you tell me what that book was and how I could get a copy. By the way I love all the Social Seo stuff.
No sure what you are talking about my friend!
Great stuff Ben. I just opened my practice 3 months ago and I got 3 new patients last week because of my content and presence online. Thanks for continuing to put great info out.
Thanks Matt. Great job on the results. Keep at it!
Thanks for the great info! Our online social presence is definitely the way to attract more patients, especially as smartphones become more common. Increasing our online presence and positive reviews is my current goal, so this article has been very helpful.
Glad you liked it, thanks for your comment.
Hi Ben
Thank you for the information. I am in the process of establishing a couple of websites for my business and this information has come in very handy.
Glad you found it helpful
Great info Ben, new to PBC and getting the online presence cranked up.
Thanks much! Glad to hear you’re on the “inside” with us at PBC!
This all sounds like great information. What if I wanted to hire someone to do a lot of the things you suggested to establish an online presence? Would you have any suggestions? Or do I need to bite the bullet and figure it out myself. I’m new to your program and really enjoy the knowledge you have shared with me thus far. Thanks for help out the profession Ben!
You would be better served learning the ropes yourself BEFORE you consider hiring a V.A. (Virtual Assistant) to start outsourcing some of these tasks.
thanx ben, my cousin is a subscriber and has been recommending your work for months…. i finally connected and so far im really impressed! great info in this bullet and im off to implement the ideas! thanx!
Sounds good Jared! Thanks for the kind words.

Interesting stuff….How does one find the time to keep up…. and also treat patients?
Outsource! You can hire very low cost overseas workers on sites like Elance.com and odesk.com. I even wrote a tutorial on how to do this. Read here:
